There are 5 major types of turfgrass/sod available in the Atlanta area, Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede, St. Augustine, and Fescue. Within these five types, there are various varieties. Each of the varieties within a certain turfgrass offers different features. Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede, and St. Augustine are considered warm-weather turf grasses. They grow robustly in the warm seasons and go dormant in the off-season, Winter. They hold a green lushes color in season and a brown/tan color in the off-season, each with different attributes.

Fescue, on the other hand, holds a green appearance throughout the year, looking at its peak in Spring and Fall. Depending on your requirements & desires, all five turf types offer various attributes.
